How to Make Chinese Tan Tan Noodle Soup Asian Cooking Recipe Cuisine

China Tan Tan Noodle Soup


This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients.  It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients.  The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose.  In this blog we touch on recipes that may be predominant for the Chinese Cuisines.  We will also share recipes based upon country, or regions such as: Burma, Cambodia, Indian, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet and Vietnam.  Some cuisines are considered South Asian, South East Asian, Central Asian and/or Middle Eastern and may not be strictly connected to a specific country or culture.
Recipe makes for 2 Servings

 2 cups canola oil

 1/2 cup paprika

 1/2 cup ground chili powder

 1/2 cup peanut butter

 1/2 tbsp dried shrimp, diced

 1/2 tbsp preserved vegetable (Ja Choy)

 vinegar

 sesame oil

 2 cups chicken stock

 1 lb cooked ramen noodles

 chopped green onions
Directions:

 Bring canola oil to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in paprika and chili powder. Let mixture sit overnight.

 Mix peanut butter and 1/3 cup of hot oil mixture till smooth.

 Then mix in dried shrimp and preserve vegetable. Add a splash of vinegar and a splash of sesame oil.

 Bring stock to a boil. Add peanut butter mixture and stir to combine.
Add cooked ramen noodles to soup. Pour into bowls and garnish with scallions.
