China Marinated Garlic Mushrooms
This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients. It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients. The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose. Recipe Makes for 4 Servings:
225 g/8 oz button mushrooms
3 cloves garlic, crushed
30 ml/2 tbsp soy sauce
30 ml/2 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry
15 ml/1 tbsp sesame oil
pinch of salt
Directions:
Place the mushrooms and garlic in a colander, pour over boiling water and leave to stand for 3 minutes. Drain and pat dry thoroughly.
Mix together the remaining ingredients, pour the marinade over the mushrooms and leave to marinate for 1 hour.
