How to Make Chinese Broccoli in Oyster Sauce Asian Cooking Recipe Cuisine
China Broccoli in Oyster Sauce
This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients. It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients. The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose. Recipe makes for 4-6 Servings
1 lb Chinese broccoli, trimmed
1/4 cup oyster sauce
Sesame oil for drizzling
fried shallots for garnishing
Directions:
Cut broccoli in half crosswise into leaf and stem sections and halve thicker stems. Fill a large stockpot with water and allow to come to a rolling boil over high heat. Cook stems for 1 minute before adding leafy parts. Cook until leaves are tender but still crisp and the leaves are a bright green. Be careful not to overcook!
Serve the broccoli after draining and drizzle with the oyster sauce and sesame oil to taste. Sprinkle with fried shallots and serve hot!
