How to Make Japanese Ginger Pork Asian Cooking Recipe Cuisine

Japan Ginger Pork


This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients.  It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients.  The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose.  In this blog we touch on recipes that may be predominant for the Chinese Cuisines.  We will also share recipes based upon country, or regions such as: Burma, Cambodia, Indian, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet and Vietnam.  Some cuisines are considered South Asian, South East Asian dishes, Central Asian and/or Middle Eastern and may not be strictly connected to a specific country or culture.



Recipe makes for 4 Servings

1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger root

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons sake

2 tablespoons mirin

1 pound thinly sliced pork loin

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

Directions:


1. In a large bowl, mix together the ginger, soy sauce, sake and mirin. Add the sliced pork, cover, and marinate for about 1 hour.

2. Heat the oil in a skillet or wok over high heat. Add the pork, and fry until brown. The pork should have a dark crispy look to it. Discard leftover marinade or reduce and serve as a sauce. Serve hot!

*Do not cook on low or medium heat, as the juices will not cook fast enough to get a crispy texture.
