How to Make Chinese Quick-Fried Shrimp Asian Cooking Recipe Cuisine
China Quick-Fried Shrimp
This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients. It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients. The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose. In this blog we touch on recipes that may be predominant for the Chinese Cuisines. We will also share recipes based upon country, or regions such as: Burma, Cambodia, Indian, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet and Vietnam. Some cuisines are considered South Asian, South East Asian dishes, Central Asian and/or Middle Eastern and may not be strictly connected to a specific country or culture.
Recipe makes for 4-6 Servings
2 lbs cooked shrimps in their shell
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1-inch fresh ginger, finely chopped
1 tbsp chopped cilantro
3 tbsp oil
1 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry
1 1/2 tbsp light soy sauce
Directions:
1. Shell the shrimp except for the very tail ends. Place the shrimp in a bowl with the remaining ingredients and leave to marinate for 30 minutes.
2. Heat a wok and add the shrimp and their marinade. Stir-fry briefly to heat the shrimp.
3. Chop some green onions roughly or cut into neat rounds. Sprinkle over the shrimp to serve.
*Fresh, uncooked shrimp is better as the cooked shrimp are easily overcooked!
