How to Make Indian Style Okra Asian Cooking Recipe Cuisine
India Easy Indian-Stlye Okra
This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients. It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients. The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose. Recipe makes for 4 Servings
3 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, chopped
1 pound sliced fresh okra
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1/4 teaspoon freshly- ground black pepper
salt to taste
Directions:
1.Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, and cook until tender.
2.Stir in the okra, and season with cumin, ginger, coriander, pepper and salt. Cook and stir for a few minutes, then reduce the heat to medium-low, and cover the pan.
3.Cook over low heat until the okra is tender, remember to stir occasionally!
*Don't wash your okra before cooking or soak it in vinegar to reduce the slime!
