How to Make Filipino Chicken Binakol Asian Cooking Recipe Cuisine
Philippines Chicken Binakol
This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients. It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients. The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose. Recipe makes for 8 Servings
3 tbsp oil
6 cloves garlic, crushed
1 medium-sized onion, chopped
1 tbsp thinly-sliced ginger
3 tbsp fish sauce
2 lbs bone-in chicken
6 cups chicken stock
1 coconut, meat and water.
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Cut coconut meat into small bite-size pieces
2. Saute garlic, onion and ginger in high heat. Add fish sauce and allow to almost come to a boil.
3. Add chicken, get a little bit of color in the meat and add the chicken stock.
4. Simmer for 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender. Add the coconut water and meat. Allow to simmer. Taste the sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.
