How to Make Japanese Gomoku Chahan - Fried Rice Asian Cooking Recipe Cuisine
Japan Gomoku Chahan (Japanese Fried Rice)
This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients. It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients. The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose. In this blog we touch on recipes that may be predominant for the Chinese Cuisines. We will also share recipes based upon country, or regions such as: Burma, Cambodia, Indian, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet and Vietnam. Some cuisines are considered South Asian, South East Asian dishes, Central Asian and/or Middle Eastern and may not be strictly connected to a specific country or culture.
Recipe makes for 6-8 Servings
4 tbsp. butter
¼ tsp. hondashi
1 tbsp. ginger
1 tbsp. garlic
5 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. oil
1 tbsp. red bell pepper, finely chopped
1 tbsp. green bell pepper, finely chopped
2 stalks green onion, finely chopped
2 stalks celery, finely chopped
¼ cup tenderloin or rib-eye, sliced
¼ cup squid rings
¼ cup shrimps, shelled
2 pieces eggs, beaten
1 cup chicken meat, small diced
2 tbsp. finely chopped carrots
5 cups cooked rice
3 tbsp. oyster sauce
salt & pepper to taste
dash hondashi and black pepper
Directions:
1. Cook rice and set aside to cool.
2. Scramble eggs hard in butter and set aside.
3. Heat oil, sauté garlic and ginger. Add beef, chicken, shrimp & squid.
4. Add carrots, celery, bell peppers, oyster sauce, and green onions. Add butter. Season with salt & pepper to taste.
5. Cook for few minutes and add soy sauce.
6. Stir in rice; add the scrambled raw eggs. Stir well and serve.
