How to Make Japanese Tofu Stir-Fry Asian Cooking Recipe Cuisine
Japan Tofu Stir-Fry
This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients. It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients. The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose. In this blog we touch on recipes that may be predominant for the Chinese Cuisines. Some cuisines are considered South Asian, South East Asian, Central Asian and/or Middle Eastern and may not be strictly connected to a specific country or culture.
Recipe makes for 2-3 Servings
8–12 oz. firm tofu, ¼" cubed
1 tbsp garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
3 tbsp scallions, sliced on the bias
½ cup shiitake mushrooms, sliced
¼ cup sake
2 tbsp black sesame seeds, toasted
1/3 cup soy sauce
a pinch of sugar
1 tsp red crushed pepper
Directions:
Heat a little oil in a wok or frying pan over medium-high heat.
Add scallion, ginger, and garlic. Stir around for 30 seconds.
Add tofu, mushroom, soy sauce, and pinch of sugar. Stir around for 2 minutes.
Serve over noodles and garnish with black sesame seeds and red crushed pepper.
