Asia Chicken or Turkey Meatball Stir-Fry


This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients.  It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients.  The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose.  In this blog we touch on recipes that may be predominant for the Chinese Cuisines.  We will also share recipes based upon country, or regions such as: Burma, Cambodia, Indian, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet and Vietnam.  Some cuisines are considered South Asian, South East Asian, Central Asian and/or Middle Eastern and may not be strictly connected to a specific country or culture.



Recipe makes for 2-3 Servings

8-10 oz. ground chicken or turkey formed into small meatballs

1 red bell pepper, diced medium

4 oz. carrots, julienned

1 zucchini, sliced thin

1 cup soybean sprouts

1 tbsp garlic, minced

1 tbsp ginger, minced

1 tbsp scallions, chopped

1/3 cup soy sauce

2 tbsp mirin

Directions:


Wash vegetables and cut into desired sizes.

Heat a little oil in a wok or frying pan over high heat.

Add meatballs. Stir around for 2 minutes until all sides are brown.

Add bell pepper, julienned carrot and zucchini slices. Stir around for 2 minutes.

Add soybean sprouts, garlic, ginger, scallions, low sodium soy sauce, and mirin to taste. Stir around for 2 minutes. Serve over cooked rice or noodles of choice.
