South East Asia Papaya and Beef Stir-Fry


This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients.  It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients.  The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose.  In this blog we touch on recipes that may be predominant for the Chinese Cuisines.  We will also share recipes based upon country, or regions such as: Burma, Cambodia, Indian, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet and Vietnam.  Some cuisines are considered South Asian, South East Asian, Central Asian and/or Middle Eastern and may not be strictly connected to a specific country or culture.



Recipe makes for 2-3 Servings

8-12 oz. lean beef, sliced thin

1 cup papaya, diced small

1 chili, chopped finely

1 tbsp coriander

1 tbsp ginger, freshly grated

1 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp cayenne

1/3 cup coconut cream

salt and pepper to taste

fresh grated coconut to garnish


Directions:



Cut ingredients into desired sizes.

Add a little oil to the pan; heated to high.

Add th beef. Stir around for 2 minutes to brown on all sides.

Add papaya, chiles, coriander, ginger, nutmeg, cayenne and coconut cream. Stir for around 2 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir around for an additional minute. Serve over rice and garnish with freshly grated coconut.
