How to Make Japanese Grilled Vegetable Pack Asian Cooking Recipe Cuisine

Japan Grilled Vegetable Pack


This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients.  It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients.  The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose.  In this blog we touch on recipes that may be predominant for the Chinese Cuisines.  We will also share recipes based upon country, or regions such as: Burma, Cambodia, Indian, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet and Vietnam.  Some cuisines are considered South Asian, South East Asian, Central Asian and/or Middle Eastern and may not be strictly connected to a specific country or culture.



Recipe makes for 4 Servings

1/2 cup dried shiitake mushrooms

1/2 lb snow peas

1/2 lb carrots, cut into thin slices

1/2 cup bean sprouts

1/2 lb zucchini, cut into thin slices

1 tbsp light soy sauce

1 tbsp peeled and finely chopped fresh ginger

2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

3 tbsp white wine

generous pinch of salt

aluminum foil, formed into a pouch


Directions:


Soak the dried mushrooms in 1 cup hot water for about 1 hour. Drain and rinse several times to remove sand.

In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients and toss to mix. Place in an aluminum pouch and tightly seal.

Prepare grill for direct grilling with medium heat.


When the grill is hot, place the pouch directly over the heat and grill for about 15 minutes.
