How to Make Chinese Fried Pork with Green Onions Asian Cooking Recipe Cuisine
China Fried Pork with Green Onions
This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients. It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients. The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose. In this blog we touch on recipes that may be predominant for the Chinese Cuisines. Recipe makes for 4 Servings
4 1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp ginger juice (obtained by grating fresh ginger)
2 tbsp rice wine
10 oz pork tenderloin, cut into pieces 1.5x2in.
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 cups oil for deep-frying
3 cloves garlic, peeled and finely-sliced
1 fresh red chili, seeds removed, cut into 1.25in. strips
3 shallots, cut into 2-in. lengths
2 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp malt liquid
freshly ground black pepper
sesame oil
lettuce leaves, for serving
Directions:
In a medium-sized glass or ceramic bowl, combine salt, ginger juice and rice. Add pork pieces, cover and refrigerate to marinate for 2-3 hours. Remove pork pieces from marinade and coat with cornstarch.
In a wok or deep frying pan over high heat, heat oil. Add pork cubes one at a time so they do not stick together and fry for 1 minute. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
In a wok or frying pan over medium heat, heat 1 tbsp oil and stir-fry garlic and chili for 2 minutes. Add pork and continue stir-frying for 3-5minutes.
Add shallots, soy sauce, malt liquid and pepper and stir-fry for 1 minute. Sprinkle with sesame oil. Arrange lettuce leaves on a large plate, spook fried pork into center and serve.
