How to Make Thai Laab Nua Asian Cooking Recipe Cuisine

This recipe was taken from centuries old cooking techniques and when possible applied modern cooking methods and/or ingredients.  It uses Asian cooking styles, Asian Spices, Asian Sauces and Asian Ingredients.  The style of cooking may have a slight alteration while still maintaining the dish's overall purpose.  In this blog we touch on recipes that may be predominant for the Chinese Cuisines.  We will also share recipes based upon country, or regions such as: Burma, Cambodia, Indian, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet and Vietnam.  Some cuisines are considered South Asian, South East Asian, Central Asian and/or Middle Eastern and may not be strictly connected to a specific country or culture.


Recipe makes for 2-4 Servings

1/2 lb steak

4 cloves garlic, chopped

2 tbsp fresh cilantro, leaves and stems

2 tsp very finely chopped green chili

1 tsp finely cross-cut lemon grass 

1 tsp shrimp paste

1/2 tsp salt


Directions:


Roughly chop up the meat, removing any unwanted matter.

Place it and all other ingredients into the food processor and pulse it until it becomes finely ground. It should be like a thick paste. 

Make sure the paste is well mixed together then roll into balls or squares and place them on a tray. 

Preheat the oven to 375F and put into oven tray. Bake for about 10 minutes. Inspect and if uncooked, bake for a few more minutes.


When it is cooked, you can crumble it up and serve inside lettuce cups.
