How to Make Korean Song-I Bahb Asian Cooking Recipe Cuisine
Korea Song-I Bahb (Rice with Mushrooms)
Recipe Makes for 6 Servings:
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 onions, thinly sliced
100g finely shredded lean steak
250g fresh button mushrooms, sliced
495 g short-grain rice
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp light soy sauce
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
2 tbsp toasted, crushed sesame seeds
Directions:
Heat the vegetable and sesame oils in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion, steak and mushroom and stir-fry for 2 minutes, then add the rice and stir-fry for a further 1 minute.
Add all the remaining ingredients and 750 ml (25½ fl oz/3 cups) hot water and bring to the boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for 20 minutes – do not lift the lid or stir during this time. Serve hot with pickles or vegetable dishes.
